Wise is the person who knows that haste makes waste.

I am convinced that regarding life, one should allow a minimum of 24 hours of contemplation to avoid making rushed decisions on major choices. The instance a lack of peace stirs is a sure sign that a hastily-made decision may mean the difference between being in, or outside of, God’s Divine Will, Plan, and Purpose in a given season. This is the antithesis of the adrenaline rush the Holy Spirit sends as time for action on a God-speak goal. When making a decision, always do a spiritual check. Whether an ill-feeling or joyful exhilaration rises up, know that both are born of the Spirit of God. Ignoring either, and rushing ahead as in the case of the former, and in fear, lagging behind on the other, will yield negative consequences that simply are far too costly to your present and future well-being. If God gives you peace to go, do, and be; then give all you have to go, do, and be the thing He has called you to. Equally so, remember that going forth in haste on a path that simply lacks the inner-peace that aligns with God’s Word and Plan is a sure time to pause, stand, and wait, in fervent prayer for His green light to move forward. This may come instantly, or in some not-so-rare instances, decades.
Trust is the key requisite to unwavering faith. I can think of several times in my life when I went forward in haste; always to my regret. And times too; when the Call was clear and the light to go was holding green for me to move ahead, and I hemmed and hawed my way to a long-holding red, a clear demonstration that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26). In simplest of terms, when God says go; then go. But, should He say, “No”, it just may mean wait, not now, or even a solid no; a compelling word that has immeasurable validity and power. Whichever the three responses; believe in faith that He knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha. He is the Omega (Revelation 1:8). No matter the results in the natural, never cease to remember He is trustworthy to the infinite degree.
